SUBJECT: Claim for monetary compensation due to wrongful termination of engagement.

EXPLANATIONS:

1. My client [Plaintiff's Name and Surname] and the defendant [Defendant's Name and Surname] became engaged on …/…/….. with the participation of their family elders and close relatives. After approximately two years of engagement, the couple separated when the defendant broke off the engagement, citing family pressure against my client and the fact that she had not warmed to him.

2. According to Article 120 of the Turkish Civil Code, “If one of the engaged parties breaks the engagement without a justifiable reason, or if the engagement is broken due to a reason attributable to one of the parties, the party at fault is obligated to compensate the other party, within the framework of the rules of good faith, for the expenses incurred and material sacrifices made for the purpose of marriage. The same rule applies to engagement expenses .”   

3. In this case, my client, the Plaintiff (Name and Surname), rented a wedding hall, ordered a cake and a music band, made hotel reservations for their honeymoon, and had to travel from A to B to get the wedding dress. Additionally, items such as carpets, bedroom furniture, and other furnishings purchased on installment plans were moved to the rented house. A list of all these expenses incurred for the purpose of marriage and invoice information are attached. My client is seeking compensation for these financial losses resulting from the defendant's wrongful termination of the engagement.
4. My client always acted honestly and in good faith towards the defendant during their engagement period, and strived to fulfill all her responsibilities regarding marriage. My client, who had complete love and trust for the defendant, dreamed of marriage and made plans for the future.

1. Photo and video recordings of the engagement ceremony and the period after
2. Expense invoices and receipts
3. Expert examination if deemed necessary
4. Witness statements and other legal evidence

CONCLUSION AND REQUEST:

For the reasons explained above, we respectfully request and demand that the court order the defendant to pay the amount of pecuniary damages specified in the attached documents, as compensation for the material losses suffered by our client due to the defendant's wrongful termination of the engagement.
