SUBJECT: Request for priority review of the case due to the family and economic hardship experienced by my client.

EXPLANATIONS:

1- My client has been sentenced to 8 years and 4 months in prison for a crime he did not commit and has been held in Sincan Closed Penitentiary for approximately two years. During this time, his family has suffered severe economic and social hardship. My client's wife is a housewife and does not work. Furthermore, my client has two children of primary school age, and therefore his family has no source of income to support itself. Because my client is incarcerated, he cannot provide financial support to his family, which has left them in an extremely difficult situation.

2- As stated in Article 141, paragraph 3 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, “All courts shall issue reasoned decisions. It is the duty of the judiciary to conclude cases with the least expense and as quickly as possible.” Furthermore, Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights and the relevant provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure mandate that investigation and prosecution processes be concluded within a reasonable time.

3- My client's unjust and prolonged detention has further deepened the suffering experienced by his family. Therefore, we request that the review process of the case, which is pending in the archives of the Supreme Court Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, be expedited and that my client's situation be addressed urgently. A swift conclusion to the case is of great importance to remedy my client's suffering and prevent further hardship for his family.

CONCLUSION AND REQUEST: For the reasons explained above, I respectfully request and demand that my client's case be given priority consideration due to family and economic hardship, and that the case be concluded expedited.
