The fees of expert lawyers are a frequently researched topic for individuals seeking legal assistance in resolving legal disputes. Legal support becomes relevant when applying to court to initiate a lawsuit or when writing a response to a lawsuit filed against them. In this regard, the minimum fee for lawyers is determined by the Turkish Bar Association and publicly announced annually as a fixed amount. All lawyers operating in Turkey are entitled to receive fees calculated based on these established rates, as they are affiliated with bar associations

At this point, when determining the fee, each bar association's board of directors prepares the details regarding the fee and sends them to the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. The Union of Turkish Bar Associations' board of directors then evaluates the proposals from the bar association boards of directors in the cities. The tariff prepared taking these proposals into consideration is first sent to the Ministry of Justice. If the Ministry of Justice does not reach a decision on the tariff sent to it within one month, the tariff is considered to have officially entered into force. However, if the ministry does not find this tariff acceptable, it is sent back to the Union of Turkish Bar Associations for further discussion. Subsequently, a vote is taken on the fee, and the minimum fee is finalized.

How are lawyer fees calculated?

The legal service fee agreed upon between the lawyer and the client is also prepared taking this schedule into consideration.
