Issues that Labor Courts Do Not Deal With

Not every issue within the labor sector falls within the jurisdiction of labor courts. The following are some of the issues for which litigation does not take place in labor courts:

• Workplaces or businesses engaged in agricultural and forestry work employing fewer than 50 workers (including 50), and all types of construction work related to agriculture that remain within the limits of a family economy.
• Crafts and trades are carried out in homes among members of a family and relatives up to the third degree (including the third degree), without the participation of anyone from outside the family.
• Household services.
• Apprentices, subject to occupational health and safety regulations.
• Those who have been rehabilitated.
• Workplaces employing three people, as defined in Article 2 of the Tradesmen and Craftsmen Law No. 507.

Process in Labor Lawsuits

After filing a lawsuit in Istanbul labor courts, there are essentially five more stages involved. These stages are as follows:
